We work with the Large Intestine Meridian in a sequence of seated twists

We examine PYS I.33 and its connection to the Buddhist concept of the BrahmaViharas. Compassion is essential to our practice, and the practice of compassion begins with the cultivation within. The brahma-viharas connect directly with our desire for true happiness. They help redirect us in an attitude of unlimited goodwill, unlimited compassion, unlimited appreciative joy, and unlimited equanimity.

Once obstacles and false identities have been set aside, the true Self, which is here, naturally comes shining through (PYSI.3). The rest of the time, we are entangled with false identities so we do not see that this misidentification has happened (PYSI.4). It is said that we are asleep, and need to awaken. That awakening to the Self is Yoga.

Introducing the idea of the Yoga Sutras and what they have to do with yoga practice.

This begins the series on Yoga Philosophy as a Yoga therapy tool. An introduction to Patanjali and Sutra study. I share part of my library and explain why I have so many translations and commentaries!

We will introduce how Patanjali's Yoga Sutras can influence our lives.

Yoga Sutras – We begin a discussion on Purusha and Prakriti, and the meaning as yoga educators and teachers. How is the path of yoga connected to this philosophy?

Using a yoga belt as the only tool, we unveil how to find the “Satya” of our asana and work with the subtle and inner alignment of the soul.

Looking at the Liver Channel and bringing the Yang energy of Spring into balance. Inversions and baddhakonasana variations

Using Lung Meridian to open up body in gentle poses. We concentrated on poses in a chair and easy supported chest opening.
