This session looks at Anxiety and how to work with Restorative poses. Anxiety happens as a normal part of life. It is an unpleasant state of inner turmoil, and can be useful for alerting to danger.

Persistent anxiety can interfere with work, concentration or sleep. For some people, anxiety can become excessive, and while the person suffering may realize their anxiety is too much, they may have difficulty controlling it and it may negatively affect their life.

We look at Upper Cross syndrome and the effect of neck, shoulder and hand issues. We use the wall and chair with some blocks and yoga belt for assistance.

Working with poses to address fuzzy thinking, fatique and insomnia. These poses are used for addressing issues of the mind. Different sequences effect different aspects of the mond body connection, and we look at the adrenals and how to tonify the Kidney Organ system.

We work with the digestive fire today, using yoga asana to help digest the season, and absorb its richness.

Tension Headaches and how to work with them in asana

Grief is a multi-faceted response to loss, usually focused on the emotional response to loss, yet it also has physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, and philosophical dimensions. Bereavement refers to the state of loss, and grief is the reaction to loss.

We begin to awaken Spring Wood Liver energy. Focusing on the inner legs and inner groin and restoring the joints and ligaments to keep the surges of liver energy calm and peaceful. May the General Liver direct us toward Peace.

This session looks at Yoga for Depression and how to use Restorative poses to work with Depression. Yoga offers a unique approach to depression as it addresses the mental factors that lead to depression, and the physiological factors. In this way a person is able to practice yoga to that help relax the physical systems and begin the process of self-investigation and discovery.

There are many different treatments for depression, ranging from types of psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and medication to nutrition, diet and alternative therapies.

Working with Hyper Extension in Elbow and Knees. Showing how to prop the student to find the “straight” that is a mystery to those who have hyperextsnion in the joints.
