Prevention Yoga – Knee : Connection to the Foot

The Foot of the Knee

We continue to look at how to save the knee. Concentration is on the foot and how to keep the knee safe by engaging the foot. Adding Kidney and Liver points of the foot add to connection of brain, body and breath.

Unequal distribution of force in the foot is felt throughout the  joints.  If the arch of the foot flattens out, the remaining force will transfer to the ankle and knee.  When feet make contact with hard surfaces, the arches of the foot compress and often cause the foot to collapse inward.  This creates an ineffective shock absorption, along with uneven tracking of the knee.
